ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet Layout Ideas & Guide
By stormland · Published
TL;DR
- Plan your main seating area before filling the edges with large furniture.
- Check decoration coverage and furniture categories around each table.
- Use the building menu’s move option when you want to rearrange existing furniture.
Build a layout you can adjust as your restaurant grows. Start with a manageable seating area, check the effect area shown when placing decorations, and leave room to rearrange. Use the player layouts below to find an arrangement that fits your ship.
Three layout ideas to adapt
These player screenshots show three ways to organize a restaurant: leave room to grow, repeat seating groups, or divide the ship into themed areas. Select an image to inspect the full screenshot.
Start small, keep room to grow
Notice the open deck behind the seating. This example is useful for thinking about where future furniture could go.

Keep one seating area easy to review and leave another part of the ship open. Decorate the tables you already use before committing to a whole-ship design.
Repeat a seating module
The repeated table-and-decoration groups make a clear visual pattern. Borrow the grouping idea, then check the comfort of each table with your own furniture.

Arrange one group of tables and decorations, check its comfort, then repeat the arrangement where space allows. Recheck coverage at the edges of every group. The right number of tables depends on the furniture you have.
Build separate themed areas
Different floor colors and furniture groups make the separate dining areas easy to read. Use the overview to plan zones before choosing individual decorations.

Use distinct floor colors and matching decor to make each seating area easy to recognize. Keep larger display pieces in their own planned space. Choose furniture categories as well as colors when trying to change a table’s theme.
Before repeating a seating group, check the comfort and category of each table, especially those along the edges.
A starter layout you can grow
Keep large pieces away from the direction you expect to expand, and use smaller, easier-to-move items near the edge. A stable central seating area reduces the amount of rearranging needed after an expansion. Adapt the sketch below to your current ship and available furniture.
Planning sketch: areas are not to scale. Check furniture sizes and effect areas before placing them.
Give tables room for decorations
Leave at least one tile between tables to avoid the small comfort penalty from crowding them together. A two-tile gap gives you more room for decorations. Use each item’s placement preview to check which tables it reaches.
Two tiles between tables
Leave two tiles between tables to make room for decorations. Check each item’s effect area in the placement preview.

Check a table before and after changing its surroundings. Work on one seating area at a time so you can see what changed before rearranging the whole restaurant. A compact sketch is useful for planning, but the in-game preview should decide your final placement.
Aim for remote ordering at comfort rank C
Remote ordering becomes available at comfort rank C, saving staff the trip to take an order. Check individual tables as you decorate; the restaurant’s overall rating does not show every table’s comfort.

Choose a theme for each seating area
Matching furniture categories around a table can change its category and add comfort. Once Franky has joined and his Break Room is built, ceiling lights offer another way to improve comfort without occupying floor space.
The official showcase includes Whole Cake Island, Alabasta, Sky Island and Egghead furniture. For a visual direction, choose one theme for a small seating area before extending it across the ship. You can also sketch separate themed areas if you want variety.
Why did my table not change theme?
To create a Marine-style table, place a table and add Marine-style furniture nearby. You can make that furniture through Franky’s Break Room. Check the surrounding furniture categories when a table does not change theme.
How to rearrange an existing restaurant
In the building menu, use the move option (場所を移動) to reposition furniture or facilities. Removal (撤去) is a separate option. To keep an object and change its location, choose move.
A practical redesign checklist: decide which area you want to change, take a screenshot for your own reference, move the pieces in that area, then review the result before continuing. Keep your original image until you are happy with the new arrangement.
How to select ceiling lamps and decorations
- Open the building menu and choose the move option.
- Switch to the ceiling layer using the ceiling toggle (天井切り替え) on the move screen.
- Select the ceiling decoration you want to reposition. Use the separate removal option only when you intend to remove it.
Ship expansion costs: steps 1–18
Expansion requests become available after Franky joins. Each step needs berries and the specific characters named on its screen; the headcount is not simply your total staff. Story progress can also limit how many expansions are available.
Nami’s bargaining halves the cost and can be used once per in-game day. Prices below are before that discount. Newly expanded space starts as deck; place flooring if you want to use it as an indoor area.
| Step | Cost (berries) | Required characters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2,500 | 2 |
| 2 | 4,000 | 3 |
| 3 | 8,000 | 4 |
| 4 | 18,000 | 5 |
| 5 | 25,000 | 6 |
| 6 | 50,000 | 7 |
| 7 | 75,000 | 8 |
| 8 | 200,000 | 9 |
| 9 | 300,000 | 10 |
| 10 | 500,000 | 11 |
| 11 | 1,000,000 | 12 |
| 12 | 1,500,000 | 13 |
| 13 | 2,000,000 | 14 |
| 14 | 2,500,000 | 15 |
| 15 | 3,000,000 | 16 |
| 16 | 5,000,000 | 17 |
| 17 | 10,000,000 | 18 |
| 18 | 15,000,000 | 19 |
Costs shown cover the first 18 expansions, before Nami’s bargaining discount.
Player layouts and inspiration
Players are already asking for ship layouts on Reddit. One discussion includes a player-shared layout video and questions about outdoor table comfort; another post shows a player’s restaurant screenshot. Follow the original links to view those examples and read the players’ experiences.
When comparing a shared layout with your own, look at the space and furniture you have available. Ask whether you want a visual theme, an easier expansion plan or help with a particular table. Copying an entire endgame restaurant may be less useful than borrowing one design idea you can use now.
Keep your menu and crew references close
Once the floor plan is organized, use the recipe catalog to choose what to serve and the ingredient pages to find missing materials. Character pages explain recruitment and hospitality requirements.
FAQ
- What is the best layout in Grand Gourmet?
- Choose a layout that fits your available space and furniture. Keep decorations within reach of several tables, group matching furniture categories, and leave room for later additions. Check each table’s comfort as you rearrange.
- How far apart should I place tables?
- Leave one tile between tables to avoid the crowding penalty, or two tiles to make room for decorations. Check each decoration’s effect area in the placement preview.
- Can I change my restaurant layout later?
- Yes. Use the move option in the building menu to reposition furniture and facilities. Moving and removing are separate actions.
- Why can’t I select a ceiling lamp?
- On the move screen, use the ceiling toggle (天井切り替え) to select ceiling decorations. Floor and ceiling objects are selected on different layers.
- Are six tables per area always best?
- Choose the group size around your decorations’ coverage. Six tables can be a convenient arrangement, but the effect area and resulting comfort at each table should guide how many you place.
